The Washington County Master Gardeners will offer a free online class on
lasagna gardens on Monday, April 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Lasagna gardens use layers
of organic materials – like the layers in lasagna – to create an easy, no-till garden that builds
great soil. Master Gardener Dusty Graham will teach participants how to layer materials such
as leaves, grass clippings, newspapers, compost and straw to make their own lasagna gardens.

Booksavers of Maryland, a non-profit used book store, strives to raise funds for education and relief efforts worldwide. They are holding a book sale on the Third Thursday of each month. All regular priced items are half off. No coupon needed. The only exclusion are textbooks. The next book sale will be April 15. Store hours are 10am-4pm. HCC announces dates for annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series
(Hagerstown, Md.)— Hagerstown Community College’s Alumni Association recently announced its concert schedule for the 16th annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series. All concerts are free and are open to the public. The schedule of events is as follows:
• Monday, July 5: The United States 229th Army Band
• Friday, July 16: The United States Navy Country Current
• Saturday, August 28: The United States Army Blues
• Friday, September 3: The United States Navy Sea Chanters
All concerts will be held at 6:15 p.m. in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater. Per the CDC guidelines, current Covid-19 restrictions will be enforced at the time of each event. Concerts are subject to change by the U.S. Military. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that no outside food is permitted on the amphitheater grounds. Personal lawn chairs are permitted for lawn seating.
