WASHINGTON COUNTY RURAL HERITAGE MUSEUM GARDEN BOOK SALE, Nov. 14-16



 During the chilly, dreary days of winter nothing pleases a gardener more than sitting down with a great garden book.

During the Used Garden Books Sale at the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum, gardeners will be able to choose their winter reading from over 600 hardcover, picture, how to, travel books as well as magazines. There are also books by some of best garden writers of the last seventy-five years.

The three day sale runs Friday, November 14, 11AM-6PM, Saturday,
November 15, 10AM-4PM. There will be a bag sale of the remaining books
on Sunday, November 16 from 1PM-4PM. On Sunday there will be also be a
few cookbooks that came in too late for the Spring Cookbook Sale.

Profits from the sale will be used for the gardens around the Farmstead
and Heritage Village at the museum.

The sale will be held at The Washington County Rural Heritage Museum
(located at 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro, MD  21713 - Rte 65 ). The
museum is open year-round Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 PM and is
presently featuring "The Fabric of Our Lives" an exhibit that highlights
the story of fabric making in this country. Call 240-313-2839 for

Beginners' classes will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009

An Advanced class will be held on Saturday, December 13

The Washington County Rural Heritage Museum will be holding Bread Making and Baking Classes at the museum complex

 Three classes will be available to learn this unique craft.  Beginners' classes will be held on Saturday, November 8 and Saturday, January 17, 2009.  An Advanced class will be held on Saturday, December 13.

Classes run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Cost of each class is $50.00.  Your cancelled check will be your receipt.  All classes will be taught by Bill Therriault, Master Bread Artisan, who is also a museum member.  Classes fill quickly so register early to reserve your spot.
